Well it may of been very wet, but it was a very enjoyable day. We made new friends as well as seeing some of our old ones. It has to be one of the nicest venues for a craft event. The stalls all looked really lovely. There was lots on offer. Ted with his Beanie, and baby booties There were plenty of activities for the children and their parents could come in for a nice warm cup for tea/coffee and cake or cream scone. Purple Hurdles table. Lovely Baby hoodies and Fairy Dust. and this is how it looks before it is made into balls of wool!

Well the year has turned and it is already the 1st February. We have had the girls in for foot inspection and tagging all the ewe lambs. Two have already lost theirs.. Wish they would get on with it! It would be nice to get back to the hay. We are not impressed. Where is the hay? She promised if we behaved our selves About time too. Agrimony Flock in the early morning. We are booking up craft events already and we will post details as soon as we have them confirmed. We hope that it is going to be as busy this year as it was last. From our very own Father Christmas! HO, HO,HO... This is Tim at Iddesleigh. This Christmas Craft event was hosted by Jackie for Hospice.. It was a very enjoyable evening and was very well supported. Jackie With her lovely wreaths on our stall at South Molton Winter Wonderland. Purple Hurdles Table at Hatherleigh Christmas Crafts evening. This event was held in the Vine Church this year which meant we all had a lot more room. It was a cold and wet evening but the people of Hatherleigh turned out to watch the Christmas lights being switched on . Winkleigh Christmas Craft event This started out very very wet.. but in true British spirit it went ahead, and what a lovely time we all had not only that but we sold out of most of our hand made soap and gifts. Thank you Winkleigh.. We had Tim's daughter Maryanne s wedding on Saturday, and the weather was lovely. we do not have photos yet to post but will as soon as we get them. We are now waiting for our Grandson to be born so watch this space

We have moved our girls up to the top field , where they are quite happy munching away at the grass.. They dont seem to be bothered that they dont have a boyfriend this year. When we have done all our christmas shows, we will start with our selecting process. The girls have no marks left now from the orf they had , this I am really pleased about as it is really horrid to see. It looks so painful, and thankfully we had it this late in the season and not at lambing. We have a Christmas shopping evening this Wednesday in Hatherleigh. Which we are looking forward to. We would love to see you all there. We will have lots on offer, hand made Christmas decorations, as well as gifts and hand made soap, ideal for stocking fillers or for teacher.. lots of little soaps for gifts for school friends. We will also have Purple Hurdles wool ideal for knitting gloves, hats or booties . Snug Boots for baby! Fingerless gloves. Both these items are knitted from our own wool from our flock of Shetland sheep. Purple Hurdle Wool On Sale this Wednesday at Hatherleigh Pre Schools Christmas Shopping event.

Gap Year for Agrimony Flock It took us a long time to come the decision not to put a Tup in this year.. This will give us the chance to work through the flock , and sell stock we cant keep, buy in the stock /fleece colours we would like to have and then take things from there. We also felt that the girls could do with a break..(if they dont I certainly do).. The flock is just about clear of Orf, this raised its ugly head about a month ago.. it proved very difficult keeping it away from the boys we were getting ready for Jaspers., but we did it and they all went with out a problem. I am sure when everyone is lambing I will miss it, but I am sure our decision will pay off in the end. We will concentrate on craft shows and promoting our wool ,soap and home accessories from Purple Hurdle. We had a very good craft show this Saturday at East Worlington, what a lovely village and thank you to all those who supported us. It is really a nice feeling to be able to sell wool and knitted items from our own flock. At this show we launched our hand made cold process soap , which was received well. We have a busy two months coming up and we will keep you posted with all the news. Purple Hurdle would like to thank all our supporters Bath Bombs

It comes around that time every year.. and it has to be done.It will always be a very sad time for me. to day the first of the boys went down the line and we have another 7 going next Monday.. I wish I could keep them all.. or sell them on but with the best will in the world it would be a mean feat to sell 16 Ram lambs...But move on we must. The first of the Christmas craft fairs is on the 29th of this month.. so we have a lot to get done for then... We are bringing out our new range of soap along with the second showing of our lovely wool from our beautiful girls. Our new collection Sweet Orange and Calendula Three of my lovely girls
